You probably didn't know it, but I'm in the job market these days. I came across this quote on a temp agency site today. Made me feel a little queasy: "The ideal temporary says 'It doesn't bother me if the boss is a tyrant. I can get along with anyone!'" With thinking like this, I wonder why we look down on prostitutes.

I'm in the midst of reading Neuromancer by William Gibson. About midway through, it really picks up momentum. C. spotted the book last night, and said "That's the book that the movie Johnny Mnemonic was based on." I couldn't get the connection between what I knew of the movie's story line and what I'd read so far in the book. Today, I read the passage where a character named Johnny is described. I don't think the story is more than about 2 pages long. That may be all that the movie is based on. I think I want to rent the movie, bad reviews and all, just to see where they took the story. In Neuromancer, it's a fatalistic tragedy.

Speaking of sci-fi stories, Minority Report has opened. I might just have to go see it, even though I have mixed feelings about Mr. Cruise.

It never ceases to amaze me -- the junk e-mail I get. Today I received a message from a "Jeorge Bumgardner." The subject: "naturally increase your penis size". I wonder how many women received this message. I wonder how many men out there have issues with this. Considering the sales of viagra and the enormous success of the cosmetic surgery industry, I guess there are a lot... hence today's spam. I didn't bother to open the message. It was more satisfying to delete it.
